Painless acupuncture for aPAIN-FREE life
Is acupuncture painful?
Acupuncture is a medical technique that uses fine, small and smooth needles to penetrate the skin. And thus many people think acupuncture will be painful since it penetrates the skin.
Yes, acupuncture needle penetrates the skin but there is NO PAIN in most cases when the needle is being inserted into the skin. The old expression "No pain, no gain" doesn't apply to Maple Acupuncture and Wellness. Our acupuncture is painless but it is indeed very effective in relieving the condition that you are suffering from.
Our acupuncturists are highly educated and well experienced.
Furthermore, acupuncture needles are made of stainless steel, very fine and smooth, and much smaller than regular medical injection needles. So it usually doesn't generate any pain when inserted into the skin.
Some sensations that you may feel during an acupuncture session may be warm, tingling, numb, ant crawling, dull, heavy or electric transmission sensations. These sensations are not bad signs of acupuncture. They are actually the manifestaion of energy flow or change of energy flow induced by acupuncture treatment (may be called 'De Qi (energy flow sense)' in Chinese medicine term).

In practice, many of our treatment sessions are combined with acupuncture and massage treatment.
Besides, we perform various orthopedic tests especially at the initial assessment for some musculoskeletal injury cases, in order to diagnose the condition more accurately and give better treatment results.
Infertility, menstrual problems, fibroids, endometriosis or ovary issues?
Acupuncture in Chinese medicine is based on the theory that there are channels and network vessels inside the body that provide and circulate vital energy (qi in Chinese) and blood. There are 12 main channels and 8 extraordinary channels in the body, which run all over the body just like the system of highways and roads in the real world.
There exist 360 regular points on the channels and those points (acupuncture points), if needled, can stimulate the energy and blood circulation, strengthen the internal organs, relieve pain, benefit the skin and tissue, expel pathogenic factor from the inside and outside of the body or even change the direction of energy flow.
Neither any medical substances applied to the needles nor coatings on the needles. However, those tiny small needles are more than enough to prevent and heal most types of disorders that we often encounter in our everyday life, by manipulating the body's healthy qi (usually stimulated or reinforced) or internal and external pathogenic factors (usually dispelled or reduced).
Many people think that acupuncture is good for pain management only.
However, acupuncture works very well for almost all kinds of disorders of both internal and external pathology.
Some representative conditions that are easily treated by acupuncture include;
- digestive system problems
- respiratory system problems
- internal organ problems
- psychoemotinal problems such as anxiety, depression, mania,
- weight gaining or loss
- facial rejuvenation
- gynecological problems including menstrual issue, menopausal syndrome
- hair loss
- childrens issue
- and many more conditions
